Fall Semester 2022 - Shining Star Awards


Each semester, Corporate Work Study supervisors have the opportunity to nominate their student workers for Shining Star Awards for exceptional workplace performance. We're so proud of the excellence that San Miguel students bring to their workplace.

Senior Winner: Nicole Arrellin 

Workplace: University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law Information Technology 

In Recognition For: Adaptability 

From Supervisor's Remarks: [Nicole's] facility at pausing mid-task seems unshakable, and her enthusiasm to engage the interruption, whether a new task from a team membever-presenter or a quick consult with her supervisor, is ever present.






Junior Winner: Natalie Gonzalez 

Workplace: Crest Insurance Group

Sophomore Winner: Alfonso Gonzalez 

Workplace: Freeport - McMoRan 

In Recognition For: Interpersonal and communication skills 

From Supervisor's Remarks: Alfonso is professional, respectful, listens to understand, asks fantastic questions, and sets a great example...He recently scored on a patent trivia in a meeting above what some of the chief and managers scored.









Freshman Winner: Jackeline Valenzuela Cubillas

Workplace: Leonardo Electronics

From Supervisor's Remarks: Jackeline is the youngest of our San Miguel students and has stood out with her professionalism, work ethic, quality of work, and overall performance...We feel fortunate to have Jackeline working with us, she has been an asset to our company and is an excellent team player.
