Club Pag-asa fundraiser for the Philippines Bahay Pag-asa

San Miguel HS students ran a food pantry competition fundraiser "Christmas in September" for the Club Pag-asa. The goal was to send gifts to the boys at the Bahay Pag-asa in the Phillipines.

Brother Dan Fenton, FSC at Bahay Pag-asa, and who was a biology teacher at San Miguel High School, wrote to us after receiving gifts from our students after their fundraiser.

The gift box arrived at Bahay Pag-asa in plenty of time for their Christmas preparations. The boys were curious about it, but Brother Dan quickly moved it to his residence for unpacking. He was so very happy to see what our students did with the school backpacks, which were just the right number for their residents.

The timing couldn't be better as the local public school is finally starting face-to-face classes in January. The cool Lego toys were also great as the boys enjoyed them themselves or shared them with their siblings. The school supplies were also very useful. Bahay Pag-asa added some other supplies that they have received plus some candy and snacks. Also included in the package were seasonings, which were used for a Feliz Navidad dinner on Christmas Day.

The backpacks were very nice gifts and they are so very helpful this Christmas when they have a full house and are stressed for funding.

"Thanks to you and all your classmates and students at San Miguel, Christmas will be that much brighter this year. We are very grateful for your generosity and efforts in sending these gifts to us! Know that you will all be in our prayers throughout this Advent and Christmas Season. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" ---Br. Dan and the staff and boys at Bahay Pag-asa
