College-bound: SMHS updates

Our College Counseling department continues to work with students, helping them achieve their dreams and goals of college after high school.

Here is a snapshot of what the seniors accomplished in the first semester:

  • 245 submitted applications as of 12/15
  • 127 total acceptances as of 12/15
  • 3 Gates Millennium Scholars semi-finalists 
  • 3 National Merit Scholars (based on PSAT scores)
  • 1 Coca-Cola Scholars semi-finalist 
  • 1 Questbridge National College Match finalist 
  • 1 recipient of Saint Mary’s of Minnesota First Generation Initiative scholarship
  • 1 recipient of Santa Clara’s Cristo Rey Scholarship
  • 1 admission to Stanford University

We are so grateful to faculty and staff, who continue to encourage and walk with the seniors on their journey. They've helped by writing countless letters of recommendation and helping keep up their spirits.
