Alumni Spotlight - Mireya Iglesias-Ayala - Class of 2015

Mireya is a proud first-generation Mexican-American born in Tucson, Arizona, and raised on both sides of the US-México border. 

After graduating from San Miguel as Class of 2015 Valedictorian, Mireya went on to pursue her higher education on a full-ride scholarship at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. 

She attended the McDonough School of Business and graduated in 2019 with a double major in Marketing and International Business and a minor in Spanish. 

During her undergraduate tenure she studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, interned for Congressman Raul M. Grijalva, and worked for a non-profit in Nicaragua.

After graduation Mireya moved to New York City to begin her career as a brand marketing professional for PepsiCo. At PepsiCo, Mireya has worked on various brands such as Pepsi and Bubly Sparkling Water. 

Throughout her marketing tenure she has led the UEFA Champions League soccer partnership, executed cause marketing campaigns, and most recently launched Pepsi x Peeps innovation. 


Mireya also serves as lead of PepsiCo's Hispanic employee resources group and is the undergraduate diversity recruiting lead for marketing.

Motivated by her promise to give back to her community, Mireya founded Envisions Project (EP) in 2022. EP aims to support San Miguel minority students pursuing their higher education outside the state of Arizona through a college scholarship and professional mentorship program.
